1894 – begins work as a professional photographer

1898 – opens portrait studio in New York; exhibits at Philadelphia Photographic Salons; publishes "Studies in Photography" in Photography Times

1900 - exhibits at Exposition universelle (Paris) and at Royal Photographic Society (London)

1902 – founder-member of Photo-Secession

1903 – ‘"Blessed art thou among women"  published in first issue of Camera Work

1909 - cofounder of Women's Federation of the Photographers Association of America

1910 – final exhibition with Photo-Secession

1912 – resigns from Photo-Secession

1920s – begins work with Pictorial Photographers of America; closes portrait studio

1929 – retrospective at Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences
